Dr. Ali Shaikh Asrof
Distinguished Professor
We design specialty monomers for polymerization to stimuli-responsive macromolecules. The polymers are used to construct Aqueous-Two-Phase systems for potential use in bioseparation.

Corrosion Inhibition, Scale Inhibition, Kinetic Hydrate Inhibition
Bio-Inspired Materials
We synthesize new polymers to be used as demulsifiers to break oil/water emulsion. Research is also directed to synthesize new materials including bio-inspired materials to mitigate organic micropollutants and toxic materials from industrial wastewaters.
Small as well as macromolecules are designed to mitigate corrosion inhibition of mild steel and scale formation in oil and gas fields. Research is also directed to synthesize new materials for high-temperature hydraulic fracturing applications as well as kinetic hydrate inhibitors for application in petro-industries.
